Our Roots: The Real Deal

I grew up in Hawaii, where our dogs weren’t pets — they were part of our Ohana.
I experienced the heartbreak of losing two of them to cancer when specialized care simply didn’t exist on the islands.
As a U.S. Army Infantry Veteran, I also witnessed firsthand the life-saving power and unmatched bond of a service dog.

As a cancer survivor, I know this disease is the ultimate enemy. It doesn’t discriminate between us and the four-legged family we love.
For me, advocacy isn’t optional — it’s my North Star. My fur babies are part of my healing.
